Buhari Signs N30,000 New Minimum Wage Into Law

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the new 30,000 minimum wage into law.

The President, on Thursday, signed the new bill into law at the state house in Abuja.

With the new bill, the federal and state workers stand to enjoy the new minimum wage that was earlier passed by the National Assembly before the final approval by Buhari.

Recall the new minimum wage was presented to the National Council of State on January 22 after which it was sent to the National Assembly.

The new bill was also deliberated on by the National Executive Council and approved before it was transferred to the National Assembly and thereafter passed by both chambers of the legislative arm.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enag, while addressing the State House correspondents, said the Senate had on March 19, approved 30, 000 naira as the new national minimum wage with an appeal to the federal government to expedite action on assent and implementation.
