The Lagos society circle, on Monday, literally stood still when the matriarch of fashion, Chief (Mrs) Abah Folawiyo, played host to notable Nigerians who gathered to identify with her at the traditional wedding of her granddaughter.
The wedding was between Oluwaseun Awolowo and Akintoye Bode-Kayode.
The bride, Oluwaseun, is the first daughter of Prince Segun Awolowo, the Executive Director/CEO, Nigerian Exports Promotion Council, and first grandson of the great Sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
Her mother, Bola (née Fowora), a lawyer by training, is the daughter of the late Engineer Amos Adeoye Fowora, a foremost Nigerian Civil Engineer.
While the bride, Akintoye is the son of late Olabode Kayode. His mother, Osayomwanbo ‘Bobo’ Bode-Kayode, Nee Giwa-Osagie, who passed on, on December 20, 2018, and was buried in London
The traditional and engagement ceremony came alive at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
As a mark of honour to the late sage, Obafemi Awolowo, friends of the bride’s father also adorned the iconic Awo caps.
The white wedding ceremony is expected to hold in a few weeks.
