Otedola fulfills $50,000 promise to Christian Chukwu.
Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, has fulfilled his promise to give 50,000 dollars to the ailing Nigerian football icon, Christian Chukwu.
The money, which was officially presented on Wednesday in Enugu State by Philip Akinola, the Chief Operating Officer of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited, on behalf of Otedola, will bankroll the medical treatment of the former Green Eagles Captain in London.
The Chairman of Nigeria Football Association, Amaju Pinnick, Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and a few other family members of the Super Eagles’ ex-coach witnessed the presentation of the money in Enugu.
The ailing former Coach of Rangers of Enugu is expected to be flown to the United Kingdom next week to commence his treatment on prostate cancer that has had him bedridden for months.
Otedola, while speaking after the presentation, said: “The governor just called to thank immensely.
“And I spoke with Christian Chukwu, too.
“He will be flown abroad next week.
“I told him he will be fine and I will make sure he’s provided with the best health services,” the billionaire noted.
With the donation, the ailing footballer star has now joined the long list of beneficiaries of Otedola’s kind-heartedness.
The billionaire, aside giving sponsorship to several students and those in need in the society, he recently assisted a Nollywood actor, Victor Olaotan, who was involved in a fatal accident.
The actor, who is still in Isreal receiving better medical care, also got 130.000 pounds from Otedola’s largesse.
