May Day: FG Declares Wednesday As Public Holiday For Workers

The Federal Government on Monday declared Wednesday, May 1, 2019 as a public holiday to mark the 2019 Workers’ day.

Abdulrahaman Dambazzau, the Minister of Interior, who announced the declaration on behalf of the government, appreciated Nigerian workers on their commitment and sacrifice towards nation building.

Dambazau in his statement also commended workers’ efforts at making it possible for the implementation of the policies and program of the government through efficient and effective service delivery to Nigerians and foreigners.

The former military brass turned politician urged Nigerian workers to continuously support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration with his plans of re-positioning the economy and moving to the next level.

As part of the activities to mark may day, workers on Wednesday are expected to hold seminars , workshops and talks in all the state of federation to sanitize Nigerian workers on new innovations and ideas.
