Why the outgoing Lagos state governor Ambode, may Become A Minister
There are strong indications that the outgoing governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode is in the good books of President Muhammadu Buhari.
And if all works well according to plan, he may likely be selected for a ministerial appointment.
It is a known fact that while some states are sure to get two ministers, Lagos as a strong state and the commercial hub of Nigeria may clinch more than two ministerial slots.
Checks revealed that if Lagos gets additional ministerial slots, Governor Ambode will likely be a beneficiary of that opportunity.
Ambode’s sudden closeness to the president is said to have been initiated by Buhari’s loyalists such as Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, his Ekiti State counterpart, Kayode Fayemi and Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State after falling out with his benefactor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Lagos chapter of All Progressive Congress is in turmoil and the main forces at play are still working against Ambode’s good fortunes with Buhari.
The recent plots according to informed sources is in a bid to edge him out of the political radar after he was stopped from running for second term.
