Oba of Benin is set to hold his 4th year coronation during the 2019 National Festival of Arts and Culture.
Eheneden Erediawu Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, has vowed to celebrate his 4th year coronation anniversary during the 2019 National Festival of Arts and Culture.
The annual festival, which will be simultaneously celebrated with the monarch’s 4th year celebration on the throne, is scheduled to hold on October 26, 2019, in Benin, the Edo State capital.
The highly revered king, on Friday, disclosed his plan when Otunba Segun Runsewe, the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, paid him a courtesy visit
According to informed sources, Oba Erediauwa made the decision to celebrate his 4th coronation anniversary with NAFEST because the festival is a source of promoting national unity among diverse cultures in the country.
“We shall support and encourage Runsewe’s passion and desire for the promotion and preservation of Nigeria’s culture, which every lover of Nigeria’s culture must join hands to sustain.
“Your passion for culture is overwhelming, and I’m highly impressed at your work rate and efforts to re-position Nigeria’s culture among the comity of nations,” the monarch said.
Runsewe had informed the Oba that the purpose of his visit was to brief the Palace about the forthcoming festival slated to hold in Benin
