Nollywood actress, Eucharia Anunobi, lost her son, Raymond Ekwu, the only product of a marriage between herself and ex-husband, Charles Ekwu, in 2017.

Raymond was just 15 when he took his last breath. He died from complications of sickle cell anemia. The actress cried non-stop after her son's death. According to her, he was her best friend and her only child.

Eucharia buried her son in 2018 and went ahead to celebrate his posthumous birthday that same year.

In a new video, the actress shared her struggle with depression after she lost her son. She revealed that everyone deserted her and she contemplated suicide many times. She made this contribution because of the incessant increase of suicide in Nigeria, especially among the youths.

She used her platform as a means to encourage those going through hard times to stay strong and hopeful. She admonished youths who struggle in life to use her as a point of contact, as she lost her only son but held on to God regardless.

She explained that suicide is a sin in itself against God and people should never see it as an option. In a more recent video, Eucharia explained that there's a limit to what psychologists and psychiatrists can do pertaining to depression. She explained that they can only make a depressed person temporarily excited but can't cure the disease. According to her, the only cure for depression is the word of God.

She took out time to list out some scriptures that people battling with depression could constantly read to themselves.
