The two ex-aides to the Minister of Communications, Alhaji Adebayo Shittu, have dragged him to court over alleged diverted salaries and allowances totalling N21 million.

The duo of Razaq Olubodun and Victor Oluwadamilare, who were former personal assistant and special assistant media respectively, in two separate suits filed through the same counsel, Adewale Lawal, are asking the court to order the payment of their outstanding salaries and allowances which the minister denied them while serving under him.

While Oluwadamilare, in his suit, is seeking to recover N11.7m outstanding salaries and allowances for 28 months from the Communication Minister, Olubodun in his own application before the Abuja Division of the National Industrial Court is also in showdown with the minister to retrieve the sum of N9,8 million allegedly owed him by Hon Adebayo Shittu.

The two ex-aides have also backed their claims with their letter of appointments as personal assistant and special adviser which stated the monthly emolument and other benefits in line with the existing practice for paying aides to the ministers in the country.

As a result of not being paid by the minister, they claimed they have been subjected to untold hardship and suffering.

No date has been fixed for hearing of the case filed on Monday, May 20, 2019.
