Happenings Media Marketing Executive, Funmi Olowosegun, buried her mother in grand style, surrounded by loved ones, family, friends, and colleagues.
The remains of Madam Beatrice Aina Arokoyo (nee Solomon), 71, were laid to rest on Friday, May 24, 2019, in Kabba, Kogi State.
The deceased was the mother to Funmi Olowosegun, the Happenings Media Marketing Executive.
The Christian wake keep, which held on Thursday, was followed by a church service at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kabba, on Friday before the reception moved to the church playing ground immediately after the interment.
Invited guests were thrilled to good music from popular juju music star, Ade Smart, on the bandstand.
Olowosegun’s late mum was from the prominent Solomon family and was also married to the well-connected and respected Arokoyo family in Kabba.
It was no surprise, therefore, that eminent royal personages from Lagos and Kabba stormed the event to play the roles befitting of royal fathers.
Madam Beatrice had passed on earlier this year at the age of 71 and Funmi and her siblings had been planning a befitting and talk of the town burial for months.
Their efforts came to glorious fruition on Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24 with a grand occasion that many people will not forget in a hurry.
Olowosegun, in her remarks at the event, said her mother was a wonderful woman who will be forever remembered by her kids and many people she had a good encounter with during her lifetime.
“She was a hard working woman, that is why you see everybody here celebrating her.
“She was a good mother to me and I thank God that she lived a fulfilled life and I thank God for keeping her to 71 years.
“I would miss her love. She was a wonderful mother and she prayed a lot. I would rather say I would miss her love and prayer. I will like to remember her for the love she showered on us,” she said.
Also commenting, Anthonia Arokoyo-Teteye, one of the children, said she never had any premonition of her death.
“I will miss her care and loving nature. My mother left us after three years of the demise of our dad,” Anthonia stated.
Madam Beatrice is survived by five kids, including the WSI Axon/Happenings staff, Funmi Olowosegun.
