Adeleke’s Eligibility Judgment Holds Today
Senator Ademola Adeleke, the People’s Democratic Party governorship candidate, in Osun State will know his fate today.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja is expected to deliver the judgement in the separate appeals they filed on the eligibility of the dancing senator to stand for the election.
Adeleke, in their appeal, is challenging the April 2, 2019 judgement by Justice Othman Musa of the High Court, Bwari, Abuja, which disqualified Adeleke’s eligibility following invalid secondary school certificate.
Leading to the judgement, Counsels Wahab Raheem and Adam Habeeb had filed the case before Justice Othman, corroborating section 177 of the constitution which stated Adeleke was not qualified to contest the governorship election.
A panel of the Court of Appeal, led by Justice Adamu Jauro, at the conclusion of hearing in the appeals on May 14, told parties that a date for judgment would be communicated to them before today was chosen for the hearing .
