Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has picked a third wife only 24 hours after the swearing-in ceremony.
The new Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has picked a third wife after taking the oath of office as governor of the state.
The bride, Ummi Adama Gaidam, is the daughter of the immediate-past governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Gaidam, and is currently studying in Saudi Arabia.
Many believe Buni hooked Ummi Adama Gaidam in marriage in order to strengthen the political relationship between himself and her father, his predecessor.
The wedding was a low-key ceremony which took place at the former governor’s residence at the Sabon Fegi area of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital
The new governor, Buni, is the immediate-past National Secretary of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC, and was anointed by Gaidam to succeed him as governor.
He was sworn-in on Wednesday by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Garba Na Baruma.
