Senator Dino Melaye has signified his interest in contesting against Governor Yaya Bello in the Kogi State Governorship race.
Prominent Kogi-born politician, Senator Dino Melaye, has announced his interest to contest in the Kogi State gubernatorial race.
Melaye declared his intention to contest at the poll which holds in November this year. He made this declaration on Saturday at General David Jemibewon Aiyetoro’s home during a People’s Democratic Party meeting.
Gideon Ayodele, a media aide to the lawmaker, confirmed the new development.
He said the party elders have asked all other interested candidates in the contest to announce their intention within two weeks to enable the party to screen them and prepare for the primaries.
Dino is a Senator and a member of the 8th National Assembly, representing Kogi West constituency. Before he defected to the opposition party, Melaye was a member of the ruling party, APC, and also the Chairman Senate Committee on FCT.
His political career started early on and he is known for his bold moves and stylish personality.
