Residents of Eti-Osa area of Lagos State, including Lekkki, Ajah, and Sangotedo, on Saturday urged the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to address perennial cases of flood in the area. They said that this is to enable them sleep with their eyes closed in the rainy season.

The residents spoke with newsmen in separate interviews at a reception organised by Gbolahan Yishawu, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Eti-Osa Constituency II.

The event, according to informed sources, was held in a bid to appreciate the constituents for giving Yishawu victory in the 2019 election.

Wasiu Buhari, one of the residents, commended the state government for its attempts at ending the issue of flooding in the area, but added that it needed to put in more effort to end this issue.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, another resident, said: “Our challenge here is flooding, and indiscriminate dumping of refuse has aggravated it.”

“We want the government to help us end flooding in Eti-Osa area. It is affecting us.”

“Our problem is flooding. Help us tell our governor, Sanwo-Olu, to address this. They should tell the people to stop dumping refuse in drains,” he stated.
