Information reaching us from the National Assembly confirms that President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to submit the list of ministers that will form his cabinet before July 2, 2019.
There is presently tension in the polity, as many are scrambling to make the ministerial list.
Rumours and an unconfirmed list of ministerial nominees have been flying around the social media, creating buzz in the political circle.
A ranking senator, while speaking on the condition of anonymity, said nothing is on ground now regarding the ministerial list and confirmation.
He assured everyone that the president would submit the list within two weeks of senate recess.
Another senator said the president is still within a reasonable time if he submits the list before July. Expectations are that President Muhammadu Buhari would make up for the time lost during his first term when he delayed the ministerial list for six months.
“I believe that the president should take advantage of the three weeks the Senate would spend in session between July 2 and the end of that month by ensuring that before we come back from these two weeks recess, the ministerial list is ready so that we simply screen and confirm them within the three weeks that we are going to sit before we go on end of session recess,” the lawmaker said.
