LASG Orders Closure Of Mile 2 To Tincan Island

Eniola Awokoya

The Lagos State government has ordered the closure of Mile 2 to Tincan Island Ports.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Taiwo Salaam, made the disclosure to newsmen today, revealing that the road will be closed for 48 hours due to the rehabilitation work starting from Monday, June 17th, 2019.

Salaam said the closure is needed to allow the construction company time to “speed up the palliative repair works on the corridor due to incessant and avoidable accidents experienced by motorists.”

The government advised motorists and commuters to avoid the affected area in order to allow all the repair works to be done within the stipulated time.

Salaam said the closure was necessary and in consonance with the plans of the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to make Lagos State traffic free.
