A few weeks ago, Chioma Roland, who is girlfriend to popular singer, Davido, fondly called Chef Chi, took to Instagram to let the public know that she was ready to sue someone. Although names were not mentioned, speculations pointed at former record label boss and businessman, Ubi Franklin.

We reached out to some in the inner circle of the entertainment industry who confided in us that Chef Chi was due to release her much anticipated cooking show in partnership with Dunes Abuja. These sources, who prefer to remain anonymous, also alleged that Ubi Franklin was given a contract to facilitate the cooking show based on his popularity with videographers and cameramen who would be needed to ensure a smooth recording. The sources, however, instigated speculations that the young Chef Chi was growing weary of waiting for months without seeing the show she announced months ago.

The sources further speculated that perhaps Ubi Franklin diverted some of the funds meant for the cooking show of the singer's girlfriend to one of his many instant investments.

However, Davido has publicly put out a disclaimer informing the public that Ubi Franklin did not swindle the money budgeted for the show. Still, he did not clarify speculations that he, Chef Chi and Ubi Franklin had a heated disagreement over the delay of the cooking show.

Ubi might have swiftly moved to assure the singer that his investment is still intact, hence Davido coming out to clarify that he has not been swindled. The businessman, however, reached out to us to let us know that he has taken precautionary measures to ensure his business is no longer in the public eye.
