Okorocha Gives Ihedioha 7 Days To Show Proof Of Looting

Okorocha to Ihedioha: I give you seven days to show proof of looting.

Funsho Akinwale

Senator Rochas Okorocha, the immediate past governor of Imo State, on Thursday gave Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, seven days to show evidence that he looted the state during his eight-year tenure as governor of Imo State.

The former is reacting to the allegation made by the Chairman of Ihedioha’s Committee on Recovery of Government Properties, Jasper Ndubuaku, who claimed that the former governor and his wife, Nneoma, moved out of the Imo State house with 67 vehicles and 50 billion naira.

In a statement released by Okorocha and signed by his media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo, the former Imo State Governor challenged the claim of his successor.

“We challenge Governor Emeka Ihedioha and his appointees to publish the list and particulars of these 67 vehicles and the details of the N50 billion the former governor and wife made away with, vis-à-vis other items thereto. And we give them 7 days to do the publication or bend their heads downward in shame.

“We also challenge them to publish the properties the former appointees must have left with, either as a group or as individuals,” Okorocha declared.

The newly sworn senator decried the various claims of some members of the administration, including the governor who claimed cars and 70 billion naira were taken away.

The fresh allegation of theft is coming after the Chief of Staff of the Governor had earlier claimed that the former governor left with 31 vehicles and about N40 billion.
