Atiku, PDP Head To Supreme Court, Say INEC Server Has The Results

Atiku and the People Democratic Party, PDP, have maintained that the election results are in the INEC server and have thus headed to the Supreme Court to demand for access to the results.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and his party, Peoples Democratic Party, have resolved to appeal the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal over denial of access to the central server of INEC to confirm their claim that the 2019 general election was truly transmitted electronically by the commission.

The move was declared by the two senior legal teams of the petitioners, Chief Mike Ozekhome and Chief Chris Uche.

Copies of the application made available to the media on Saturday showed that the PDP counsels made an appeal to the Supreme Court two days after the tribunal’s decision was delivered.

Dismissing the application, Ozkhome said the tribunal failed to consider their uncontroverted evidence in their affidavit in support of their application for access and inspection of INEC server.

The tribunal, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, who gave the judgement, was said to have dismissed the application on the ground that if given access to INEC server, it would amount to pre-judging the main issue meant for trial.

The judge added that if granted the prayer of the PDP and its presidential candidate, it would affect the central issue in the petition meant for the final stage of the case.
