Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Tukur Buratai, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The elated Army Chief was impressed with the grand reception accorded him.

Sanwo-Olu, while addressing the top military brass and his entourage at the Lagos House in Alausa, expressed concern over security threat across the country. He, thus, urged Nigerian soldiers to put more effort into nipping the problem in the bud.

According to him, the country will not attract foreign investors if the insecurity persists.

“Issue of security in the state and the nation is critical to all of us. It is something we have to take seriously.

“It is only when the country is safe and secure that foreign direct investments will come in, and we citizens will be able to go about our lawful businesses and create wealth and development,” the governor stated.

The governor added that his government is ready to give support to the military in any form against insecurity.

Buratai, while giving his speech, appreciated the governor for the reception given him and assured him that the Nigerian Army would render necessary support to ensure peace in the state and the country.

He noted that, later in the year, Operation Crocodile Smile would be introduced in Lagos for security purposes.
