Busola Dakolo, photographer and wife to singer, Timi Dakolo, has been in the news in recent times for making rape allegations against the popular COZA Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, and people have had one or two things to say about her. Find below the three most common lies that have been peddled about her.
1. She met Timi Dakolo in COZA
Busola served in Bayelsa State, South-Southern region of Nigeria. But met her popular singer husband, Timi Dakolo, at the Household of God Church, owned by Pastor Chris Okotie, in 2008.
Coincidentally, Busola served in Timi Dakolo's state, Bayelsa, but it seems they never met each other because the singer, before moving to Lagos, resided in Port Harcourt with his aunt who took care of him after his mom passed away in Ghana.
Busola found her way to the Information Technology Department of Zenith Bank headquarters in Victoria Island immediately after youth service where she worked as a staff.
According to reports, Timi approached Busola and asked for her number. She obliged him with a fake number instead. The two somehow reconnected and started dating.
2. They got married in COZA
It is true that the couple had their first child, Alex, outside wedlock and got married when Busola was heavily pregnant with their second daughter in Illorin.
However, the couple opted for a low key wedding because Busola was already heavily pregnant with the second child.
According to reports, the duo had the traditional and white wedding at the same event center in Illorin, at the Royal Fame Garden, Old Cattle Market Area, Sango, and it was attended by family members and close friends, including producer, Cobhams Asuquo, and wife, Ojuola, as well as Idols alumni Eric Arubayi and Joan Ekpai.
According to a wedding guest from 2012, “It was basically a compact ceremony. The traditional and white wedding and even reception were held one after the other at the same reception, we just changed halls from a smaller one to a bigger one.”
3. Busola returned to COZA after her alleged rape
There are many who claim that Busola returned to COZA years after the rape incident and became a worker.
During her interview, she opened up that she started attending Winners Chapel after she successfully broke away from COZA in Illorin with the help of her boyfriend, who was a cousin to pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
From online posts, it is obvious that she proceeded to Household of God Church in Lagos where she met her husband. She also maintained that she never joined any church workforce after the alleged rape incident.
It is easy for people to speculate and peddle lies without first digging deep to know the truth of events.
