Senator Dino Melaye obtains PDP nomination form.
Senator Dino Melaye has obtained his nomination form ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party Kogi State governorship primary election.
The prominent politician, after picking his form on Thursday, disclosed to his supporters who accompanied him to the PDP secretariat in Abuja that his ambition for the Kogi State governorship race is a clarion call and love for the indigenes of the state.
He noted that the state needs a good leader who can rescue people from unemployment, poverty, insecurity, nonpayment of salaries and pension, among other problems plaguing the state.
“We will look at tapping the available of over 200 mineral resources in Kogi. We will look at environment, agriculture, we will tap into mining,” he said.
“We will look at education that is the bedrock of our people that has completely collapsed. Our children have spent more time at home than in school in the last four years.
“Our workers, elders, pensioners are dying for not being able to pay for their daily drugs. Many are hypertensive and diabetic but they cannot service these ailments because government has refused to pay salaries and pensions.’’
Melaye added that if elected in November as governor of the state, he would focus on more people, education, tourism and diversification of projects.
