A few hours after tendering his apology to the assaulted mother, Senator Elisha Abbo was on Thursday quizzed by officers of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command for the offence he committed in May at a sex toy shop in Abuja.
The senator was taken into custody after voluntarily submitting himself to a police invitation.
As at the time of filing this report, Abbo was at the station for questioning.
Bala Ciroma, the FCT Police Commissioner, also confirmed that the senator was under investigation at the station as at Thursday evening.
“We have questioned him and he is in our custody, but I can’t say if he would be released today (Thursday).
“It depends on the extent of our investigations; it depends on our discretion and how far we have gone with the investigation,” the CP said.
Abbo had earlier met with Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector General of Police, at the Force Headquarters before heading to the command for questioning.
