President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, have praised the Super Eagles for their victory over Cameroon.
President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, sent congratulatory messages to the Super Eagles after defeating Cameroon on Saturday to progress to the quarter finals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Nigerian football squad has ousted the defending champion, Cameroon, from the tournament after beating them 3-2 victory.
The President, on his Twitter handle, praised the team for their hard work, team spirit and assured them of his support all through the tournament.
Also speaking, the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, hailed the team, their sportsmanship, and quality, while noting that he was proud of them.
“The Super Eagles have showed the whole world what Nigeria is all about.
“That we are champions and Nigeria plus every Nigerian has the capacity and capabilities to turn things around,” Atiku said.
The Super Eagles, who are still in an excited mood after the victory, are expected to play against South Africa in the quarter final tie.
