President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, during the sitting of the Presidential Election Tribunal objected to the admission of his form which he submitted to the electoral body for the February 23 presidential election.

The president’s lead counsel, Chief Wale Olanipekun (SAN), said the reasons for his client objecting to the admission of the form, which contained Buhari’s personal data, would remain private.

Olanipekun, however, said that his reasons would be made public at the address stage.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, are challenging the victory of Buhari in the last presidential election, which the former Vice President claims to have won.

PDP and his presidential candidate had submitted Buhari’s form to establish their case against Buhari on his qualification for the poll. They accused Buhari of not having a school leaving certificate, as against the electoral law.

Also, they submitted the final result of the election as signed by the INEC boss, Yakubu Mahmood, and documents containing total number of voters in the INEC register and the number of collected permanent voters card for the 2019 polls.

The election tribunal had admitted that in evidence as exhibit.

PDP's lead counsel, Livy Uzoukwu, also tendered six newspaper publications and 10 press statements issued by INEC in respect to the election.

Till date, not less than 6,806 election result sheets from two northern states, Kano and Zamfara States, have also been submitted.
