Senate President Leaves For Egypt To Cheer Eagles In Their Match Against Algeria     

Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, has led the Presidential delegation to Egypt in support of the Super Eagles.

The Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan, earlier on Sunday left Abuja for Egypt to cheer the Super Eagles in their semi-final match against Algeria at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Before he departed Abuja, Lawan who was leading the presidential delegation to the venue of the match said that the presence of the delegation would boost the morale of the team and would stimulate them to win the match which is scheduled to kick off at 8 pm Nigerian time.

“I am confident that our boys will today reenact their winning streak in their determination to win the trophy, and they need all of our supporters including our physical presence,” he said.

The delegation that went to Egypt included the Speaker of the House, Hon. Fem Gbajabiamila, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

Others were Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State; the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele; President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Habu Gumel; and a representative of the Presidency, Capt. Hosa Okunbo.
