Are we witnessing the demise of Big Brother Naija?
The organisers of Big Brother Naija are facing serious backlash on social media, especially Twitter, over its choice of housemates for its ongoing season, tagged "Pepper Dem Gang."
From the inception of the new season of the reality show and the unveiling of housemates, one of the things the viewers have kept complaining about is their skepticism about this new Pepper Dem housemates' ability to supersede what their predecessors brought to the table.
So far, the complaint has been the same and many have expressed disinterest in watching this season, with the excuse that the housemates have been boring.
The surprise eviction moves made by the organisers only kept the viewers interested for a few days.
Record label boss, Don Jazzy, has been an avid follower of the reality show. He has implored Big Brother to reshuffle the housemates, as they are boring.
It was as if the viewers were waiting for him to complain, as they have also chipped in their thoughts. Many feel housemates like Tacha is overrated.
Nigerian show organisers are inconsistent when it comes to maintaining quality. It is possible that out of the millions of people who auditioned for the reality show, top executives at the organising strata deliberately chose their candidates to compete as housemates this season.
One of the auditionees who made it to the semi-finals after general auditions confirmed that some of these housemates were never seen at the meetings called by the organisers.
Is it possible that this might be the last season of Big Brother Naija which will engage millions of viewers the world over? It seems the “Double Wahala” season has been their best so far and this new season might not be able to beat it.
