The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Wednesday, officially handed over one of the seized properties belonging to the slain former Chief Defence Staff, Air Marshal, Alex Badeh, to the management of the Voice of Nigeria in Abuja.
The building, located at Plot 1386, Uda Crescent, off Aminu Kano Crescent, near Glo Mobile Network, Wuse 2 Abuja, was given out as an office.
The late military brass lost the property and forfeited it to the federal government after the commission investigated him for looting funds during his time in office as Chief Air Marshal.
Barrister Ola Olukayode, who represented the acting Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim, said during the handing over ceremony that the edifice was a testament that the fight against corruption was real.
“If we are able to fight corruption in Nigeria concertedly, we would have fought 70% of Nigeria’s problem,” he said.
The Chairman of the Board of VON, Ibrahim Buba, and DG, VON, Osita Okechukwu, led other management staff of VON who were all part of the ceremony.
