The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Tunisia 1-0 in the third-place match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to win their seventh continental bronze medal.

Odion Ighalo's goal on three minutes was the difference as Nigeria strolled to a comfortable win at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.

Nigeria started the game brightly, pressing their opponents high up the pitch as they looked to cause them some problems early on.

The early pressure paid off after just three minutes into the game when Ndidi found Jamilu Collins in space on the left side after a quick interchange with Musa.

The left-back showed some good burst of pace to beat his marker before playing in a low cross which Tunisian goalkeeper Moez Ben Cherifia parried against his own defender and into the path of Ighalo.

The 30-year-old poked home his fifth goal of the tournament in seven games to move two goals clear on the top scorer's chart.

Tunisia sprung into life after conceding that early goal but were reduced to just half chances as the Nigerians showed good defensive organization to take their lead into the halftime break.

Both teams had chances to add to the scoreline but none was taken as Nigeria continue their 100 percent record in third-place games.
