Algeria are African champions after they defeated Senegal 1-0 in the final of the 2019 Nations Cup in Egypt.
A Baghdad Bounedjah deflected shot after just two minutes into the game gave the North African the victory and their second continental title.
Senegal played their hearts out as they tried to get back into the game but the Foxes showed good defensive solidity to see the game through.
The Senegalese players thought they had been offered a way back into the game when the referee pointed to the spot after an Algeria was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.
But their hopes were dashed after the Cameroonian referee overruled the earlier decision after reviewing the play.
The loss is the second that the West Africans have suffered in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations after their defeat in the finals in 2002.
