President Buhari Condoles With Victims Of Bandit Attacks In Sokoto

37 innocent people were mauled by bandits in the Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto, and the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has condemned the dastardly act, vowing to respond valiantly to the brutality shown by people he termed as "remorseless enemies of humanity."

The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Presidency, Mallam Garba Shehu, passed the condolences of the president in an interview at the federal capital city, Abuja. He announced that the president condoles the victims of the unfortunate attacks and stated that military troops have already been deployed in Sokoto and other affected areas to combat these attacks.

“This frequent and large scale killings of poor villagers by gangs of mass murderers must be met with the fiercest force the government can mobilize.”

“The Presidency is consulting with states rocked by this tit-for-tat violent attacks with a view to complementing the security measures being put in place by getting the communities to dialogue with one another," Garba Shehu quoted the president.

He further said that Buhari's administration will push for the disarmament of bandits but if the dialogue is made a mockery of by bandits and the violence against innocent lives continues, the government will have no tolerance for such acts. He assured Nigerians that all forms of terrorism will be curbed.
