Femi Falana: My Chambers Not Representing The Dakolos

Human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has moved to squash reports that his chambers now represent the Dakolos.

Reports yesterday suggested that the SAN is now the lawyer for Timi Dakolo's wife, Busola in the rape case against Biodun Fatoyinbo, senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly.

Falana had helped speed things up for the Dakolos with their petition against the COZA pastor after the couple had expressed fear over their petition.

But in a bid to clarify things, the lawyer noted that while he intervened to get the police to investigate the petition, he wasn't representing them.

“They wrote their petition before contacting us. When they met us, they expressed the fear that their petition might not be investigated," Falana told Punch.

"We intervened by requesting the police authorities to investigate the complaint. The IG has already granted the request. I confirmed the position to you yesterday (Monday).”

Busola Dakola in an interview earlier this month revealed that she was raped twice by Biodun Fatoyinbo 20 years ago. The allegations led to the cleric stepping down from his position as senior pastor of the church pending the duration of investigation.
