Segun Akanni Leaves Country Over Threat to Life
Segun Akanni, closest and longest-serving aide of Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has fled the country over the threat to his life.
Akanni was forced to leave the country after several failed assassination attempts on his life after being labelled a betrayer, leaking his former principal’s secrets to others in exchange for monetary rewards.
Akanni has since denied all the allegations, saying God would judge his accusers.
Before leaving the shores of Nigeria, Akanni had complained to security operatives over the threat to his life, accusing the National Coordinator, Aare Gani Adams.
“Akanni’s big problem is that he was Adams’ closest and longest-serving aide and he knows the strength and weaknesses of his former principal and they have engaged in things that are best left forgotten.
“So leaving the Aare Ona kakanfo in acrimonious circumstances will certainly not blow any good wind his way,’’ a source revealed.
