Everton defender, Yeri Mina has been charged by the Football Association for breaching the betting regulations of the organization.

Mina appeared in an advert for Betjuego in his home country, Columbia and that has led to him being charged.

The player could be fined, or even suspended by English football’s governing body if found guilty. He has until Friday, July 26 to respond to the charge against him.

An official statement read: “Everton FC’s Yerry Mina has been charged with misconduct in relation to the FA’s Betting Rules.

“It is alleged that the defender breached FA Rule E8 (3) by participating in an advertisement for betting activity which he is prohibited from engaging in.

“He has until Friday (26/07/2019) to provide a response.”

Recently, England international striker Daniel Sturridge suspended for six weeks and fined £75,000 by an independent regulatory body appointed by the FA last week for violating a different part of the betting rules.
