Gbemi Saraki Makes Buhari’s Ministerial List
After several years in the political wilderness, Senator Gbemi Saraki the sister to the immediate past senate president, Olubukola Saraki has bounced back and is better.
The beautiful former senator was shortlisted among the 43 candidates nominated for a ministerial position by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Gbemi who now dictates the pace in the political structure of Kwara State following her elder brother’s political upheaval in the state, is one of the top politicians to reckon with.
Recall Gbemi experienced a serious decline in her political exploit when she lost to the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Saraki ensured his blood sister didn’t succeed him, which paved way for Abdulfatah becoming the governor.
The former Senate President’s argument then was that it is wrong for his sister being a female to become governor considering the Islamic tradition of the state which does not support a female governor.
This led to the loss of Gbemi’s governorship ambition as many scholars in the state turned against one another, some in favor and others against.
