The Lagos State Government has commenced demolition of illegal structures on some roads in the state, including the Lagos-Badagry expressway.
According to reports, the demolition exercise was set in motion after a directive to rid the state of bad roads was given by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Recall that the governor, upon resumption of office, on May 30, 2019, declared “zero tolerance” for traffic offences, bad roads, and environmental degradation, including indiscriminate refuse disposal.
Owners and occupants of the illegal structures in motor parks along the Lagos-Badagry expressway were said to have been given a seven-day notice before the demolition exercise commenced.
