Former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel, has explained why he visited President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
The former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has disclosed the reason for his visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa, Abuja
The sudden visit has raised suspicion among members of the Peoples Democratic Party that OGD might finally decamp to the ruling party, following the grand reception accorded him by the president.
The visit is coming after the former governor was rumoured to have dumped PDP for the All progressives Congress due to his closeness to the ruling party, especially Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Governor.
Explaining the purpose of the visit on Tuesday, Governor Daniel said he was in the villa with Ogun State elders to thank the president for honouring the late Chief MKO Abiola, adding that the invitation was extended by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
“On the invitation of Governor Dapo Abiodun, I attended with other Ogun stakeholders a meeting at the villa with Buhari to thank him for honouring MKO Abiola.
“The opportunity was seized to ask the president to support Ogun State in some of the Governor’s projects, especially federal government roads,” he said
