Austin Papi

A 35-year-old Nigerian and native of Enugu State has been apprehended by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials in India for drug peddling. According to sources, there were 33 grams of MDMA and cocaine worth over Rs. 2 Lakh (Indian currency) in his possession.

The Nigerian man, identified as Tony Lucky, was not so lucky on Wednesday when he was arrested following a tip-off from locals. The CCB assault team raided a house in Brindavan Nagar town, near Bagalur main road, where Tony lived and was caught red-handed with the drugs.

Lucky also frequented Navi Mumbai and Kalaga, areas that were said to be his hotspots for peddling the drugs daily and on a weekly basis.

After preliminary investigations, the CCB revealed that Tony came to India on a visiting visa and started peddling drugs by sourcing the drugs from contacts in remote villages and other towns in the country. He sold the hard drugs to junkies and in brothels.

The CCB believes Lucky is part of a large network of drug peddlers who get their supply from the most notorious drug ring in Mumbai. Therefore, they booked him under the NDPS Act pending further investigations
