A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Deaconess Ibelegbo Chidinma, who was among those kidnapped and rescued on Saturday has recounted her ordeal with her abductors.

She testified at a church conference that her captors were Fulani herdsman who ambushed her and her convoy on their way to the RCCG camp along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The Fulani herdsmen, according to her, blindfolded her along with four other passengers and took them into the bush. The deaconess said she started praying to God that he should make her abductors fall into a deep slumber and added that God immediately answered her prayers. She then sneaked out of the bush while her abductors slept.

“I began to make my way out of the bush. I was asking God for direction to the road. I eventually came to a road and met a motorcyclist and when I narrated my story, the cyclist brought me to a police checkpoint,” she said.

The Ogun State Police Command went on a rescue mission on Saturday and rescued four captives held by suspected Fulani herdsmen along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Through a spokesman, the state police command explained that the statement of and information given by the deaconess led to the rescue of the other four victims.
