Brazilian defender, David Luiz reportedly skipped Chelsea's training today as he considers a move to rivals, Arsenal.

On the penultimate day of the summer transfer window in England, the center-back trained separately from the rest of the squad.

Although no official bid has been made, it is understood that the 32-year-old is interested in making the switch across town to join the Gunners.

Luiz is said to have a good relationship with Arsenal's new technical director Edu and coach Unai Emery whom he worked with during his time at PSG and that could aid the negotiations.

Arsenal have been keen on bringing in at least one center-back this summer and with Laurent Koscielny leaving for Bordeaux, that need has been heightened with just over 24 hours to deadline in England.

The North Londoners have also been linked with RB Leipzig's £70 million-rated Dayot Upamecano and Juventus' Daniele Rugani but Luiz would come at a cheaper price and lesser risk.

Luiz became only the first Chelsea player over the age of 30 since 2011 to he handed a two-year extension when he penned a new deal in May.

A move away for Luiz could scupper Frank Lampard's plan for Chelsea's opener against United and maybe the rest of the season, as Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Kurt Zouma would be the only recognized senior center-backs at the club.
