Singer Tekno Arrested Shortly After Announcing His Exit From MMMG

Alhaji Tekno, as he is fondly referred to, caused a stir on social media and traffic a few days ago at the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge of Lagos.

A transparent glass box at the back of a truck was seen conveying semi-clad girls who were dancing to a song while on the move.

After a few hours of speculations and investigations, it was discovered that Tekno was the conveyor of the ladies displaying nudity.

Fans, of course, reacted to the incident as many felt it was a senseless and degrading act just for clout. They, therefore, enjoined the police to take some sort of action against the singer.

While the police were yet to decide what to do, Tekno officially announced his exit from Ubi Franklin's record label, Made Men Music Group.

A few hours after the announcement of his exit, the Lagos State Police Command announced that Tekno had been arrested and taken into custody for breaching the code of public decency.

Confirming the arrest, the state police spokesman, Bala Elkana, a deputy superintendent of police, said he was invited for questioning.

“The command has arrested Tekno and the two girls for conveying half naked girls at the Lekki area of Lagos,” Elkana said.

“He is presently under questioning at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti.”

The police said such acts of public indecency are against the criminal code and if, after investigation, those involved are found guilty, they would be charged to court.
