Fear gripped the Agbarha-Otor community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday when some hoodlums attempted to break into the multi million-naira grave of the late business mogul, Olorogun Michael Ibru.
As a result of the incident, security measures have been put in place to checkmate further moves by the bandits.
Narrating the incident, sources revealed that the hoodlums had planned to steal the casket that conveyed the remains of the Urhobo icon but later fled the scene after several attempts to move the casket failed.
Prof. Sam Ibodje, the President General of the community, who also confirmed the incident to the media, said that the police have been informed of the matter, adding that movement around the grave has been restricted.
Agbarha-Otor is the country home of the Ibrus and hosts the headquarters of 222 battalion of the Nigeria army as well as Michael and Cecilia Ibru University.
