Kogi APC Suspends Simon Achuba For Anti-Party Moves

More trouble brews for Achuba in Kogi State.

The All Progressives Congress Kogi State suspended Simon Achuba, Kogi State Deputy Governor, for anti-party offences among other issues on Friday.

He was said to have engaged in anti-party activities before, during and after the 2019 general elections.

The new development is coming in spite of a serious feud between the deputy govenor and his principal, Governor Yaya Bello, with many believing that suspension could be the hand work of the governor.

Abdulahi Bello, the state party chairman, while addressing the media in Lokoja, said the deputy governor was suspended based on petitions received and resolutions of the party.

The chairman accused Achuba of working discretely and openly for candidates of opposition parties during the presidential, national and state assembly elections.

He added that the activities of Achuba during the last elections were against the APC candidates while he (Achuba) held the position of deputy governor.

“As we are all aware, the APC does not condone acts of indiscipline, indiscretion and anti-party activities from any party member; no matter how highly placed,” the chairman said.
