Tragedy struck yesterday during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations when a woman’s lifeless body was found in a room at the Southbound Hotel in Morogbo area of Lagos.
Bala Elkana, the Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command who disclosed the incident to the media, said the corpse of the lady was discovered around 2pm on the bed facing up, with a swollen face and foam-like fluid coming out of her mouth.
Elkana said that the state the woman was found in suggested that she was strangled to death.
“There were blood stains all over the place. The corpse was evacuated to the mortuary for autopsy while the scene was preserved for forensic analysis,” he affirmed.
Elkana further stated that the Commissioner, Lagos State Police Command, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, to take over the investigation.
