Money Laundering: EFCC Arraigns Atiku’s Son-In-Law And Lawyer

Abdullahi Babalele was, on Wednesday, arraigned in court for allegedly laundering $140, 000 dollars shortly before the 2019 general elections.

Abdullahi is the son in-law to the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, who was presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 23 presidential election.

His lawyer, Uyiekpen Osagie-Giwa, was also arraigned after being nabbed with $2 million dollars in connection with the election.

The two close associates of the former vice president were interrogated before Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.

Both offenders, during the hearing, pleaded not guilty to the charges before the judge ordered their return to EFCC’s custody till today, Thursday, to process their bail applications.

Atiku was a major contender against President Muhammadu Buhari on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
