2 Female, 6 Male Arrested During Initiation Into ‘One Million Boys’ Cult In Lagos

Eight suspected cultists, 6 males, and 2 females have been arrested during their initiation rites the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed.

The suspects were nabbed by men of the force during their initiation into the dreaded ‘One Million Boys' cult group.

In a statement issued by Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Bala Elkana, the suspects who are all within the age of 19 and 23 were said to have been apprehended on Thursday by operatives of Operation Crush from Ilemba Hausa Police Station led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Kazeem Abonde, acting on credible Intelligence.

According to Bala, some dangerous weapons, charms, and weeds were recovered from them, during the operation.

Part of the statement read: “The suspects were arrested at No.15 Alado Street, Shibiri, where they were being initiated into the cult group by one Yusuf Abu, who is 20 years old.

“Those arrested are Sunday Gabriel 'm' aged 20 years, Rilwan Dauda 'm' 18 years, Mohammed Sikiru 23 years, Oladimeji Abayomi 'm' aged 18 years, Rasheed Alabi 'm' aged 20 years, Habeeb Idowu 'm' aged 18 years, Olaiya Bisola 'f' aged 18 years, and Hazzan Hawawu 'f' aged 19 years.

“Three cutlasses, a calabash with charms and weed suspected to be hemp were recovered from them. Suspects were charged to court and remanded in prison custody."
