Ex-Nigeria international and coach, Samson Siasia has vowed to clear his name after he was handed a lifetime ban by Fifa on Friday.

The former Super Eagles star has denied any wrongdoing and his hopeful that his legal team would redeem his image in due time.

Siasia was given a life ban by the world's football governing body, FIFA for agreeing to receive bribes and to influence matches.

According to FIFA, the tactician who led Nigeria's U20 and U23 teams to second-place finishes at the youth world cup and Olympic games “accepted that he would receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the Fifa Code of Ethics”.

But Siasia has now denied any form of wrongdoing while swearing to exonerate himself.

"I've not done anything wrong and will continue to fight to clear my name," the 52-year-old told BBC Sport.

"Everything is now in the hands of my legal team."

Siasia is yet to officially address the issue, but his subordinate, Prince Opukiri Jones-Ere, however, revealed that the legal team of coach would issue a response in the coming days.

"The coach was unable to address the press today (Saturday) as planned because he's undergoing a lot of stress," Jones-Ere said.

"His lawyers are studying the ruling and will make an official statement in a few days."

In addition to the ban that was slapped on the 1994 Nations Cup winner, a CHF 50,000 was also sanctioned.
