The Nigerian embassy in Germany has launched a manhunt for the people who attacked Senator Ike Ekweremadu last Saturday in Nuremberg, Germany.

The immediate past Deputy Senate President had gone to Germany last weekend to attend an Igbo cultural festival before he was unexpectedly attacked by the suspected IPOB members for unknown reasons.

The Nigerian Embassy in Germany has called on the German authority to find out the identity of the attackers of the Nigerian senate member.

The embassy, in its statement on Monday in Berlin, requested that the culprits be tried in accordance with German laws, adding that the penalty will discourage such act against any Nigerian official in future.

“The embassy has requested a thorough investigation of this attack with a view to identifying the perpetrators and bringing them swiftly to justice in accordance with German laws,” Yusuf, the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, stated.
