The Kano State Police command rearrested the notorious kidnap kingpin, Alhaji Hamisu Bala Wadume, on Monday, August 19, 2019, in his hideout at the Layin Mai Allo Totoro area of Kano State.
You will recall that a few weeks ago, the kidnap kingpin escaped during a shootout between battalion 93 of Nigerian soldiers based in Takum and the Taraba police force in Taraba State, where three police officers and two civilians were killed.
While Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, created a 7-man joint investigation panel to probe the incident, the Inspector General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, approved the continued manhunt for Alhaji Wadume. After Wade was apprehended, he was immediately taken to the Abuja police headquarters for proper investigation on his charges.
The IGP, M.A Adamu, has now commended the police for their patriotism and persistence in nabbing the kidnap kingpin. He added that the rearrest of the suspect, Alhaji Hamisu Bala Wadume, will no doubt, help in bringing answers to the numerous unanswered questions concerning the unfortunate incident that occurred on August 6 and also bring to justice the larger criminal enterprise of the suspect.
