A medical doctor, identified as Gbolade Ejemai, was allegedly stabbed to death by a lady, called Victoria Popravko. It was also reported that her father was an accomplice in the murder.
The Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine has written a petition to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Police Department in Kharkiv ordering for full investigations into the murder and the circumstances behind the death of Gbolade Ejemai, who happens to be of Nigerian dissent.
The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM ), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has been in touch with the family of the deceased through the Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine. She sent her condolences and deliberated on the matter before submitting the petition to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
“We have requested for a full and thorough investigation into the circumstance surrounding his demise, with a view to ensuring that justice is carried out,’’ Dabiri-Erewa said.
The petition, signed by NIDCOM’s Head of Media, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, was made available to newsmen in Abuja. It was, thereafter, delivered to the Ukrainian authorities on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
