Buhari, three governors, and ministers are set to leave for Japan on Sunday.
President Muhammadu Buhari and three governors, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Babagana Zulum, and Abdul Razaq Raham as well as a few other ministers are expected to leave the country on Sunday to attend the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development in Japan.
The event holds between August 28 and 30 in the city of Yokohama after which the president would return on Saturday, August 31.
The TICAD6 was held in Nairobi, Kenya, in August 2016 and Buhari attended it.
The Japanese Prime Minister and host, Shinzo Abe, will perform the opening ceremonies of the TICAD7.
“President Buhari will be accompanied by Governors Babagana Zulum, Abdu Raham Abdul Razaq and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Borno, Kwara and Lagos states respectively; ministers and other top government officials. Femi Adesina , the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity,” the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, affirmed in a statement.
